Russian retired tennis player Maria Sharapova has made a contribution to the fight against coronavirus pandemic.
The 33-year-old tennis player put an autographed tennis racquet on auction to raise money for Doctors Without Borders, an association that provides lifesaving medical humanitarian care to less fortunate people around the world.
The auction will end on April 19.
“I’m honored to participate in the auction. I have left my signature on the racquet, with which I played last year,” she said.
Maria Sharapova has announced her retirement from tennis at the age of 32 after winning five Grand Slam titles. During her career, Sharapova won Wimbledon, the Australian Open and the US Open once, while clinching the French Open twice.
