Tayfur Aliyev: I don't accept decisions of referees

Targu Jiu. 2 April. REPORT.AZ/ “In boxing, we witness dishonesty of judges with athletes in every tournament”.

The Eastern European bureau of Report News Agency was told by member of Azerbaijani national team Tayfur Aliyev who won a silver medal in 56kg weight class.

Aliyev, who lost to Romanian boxer Robert Jitaru in the final said that manifestation of sympathy by referees towards a local athletes is natural: "They give at least one gold medal to the host. My opponent Robert Jitaru has won this medal. I do not accept such decisions of referees. Even if we protest, nothing will change. I believe i will meet with Jitaru in other competitions and take revenge for this defeat."

Aliyev praised his performance at the European Championship in terms of experience and added that he would work on mistakes he made after returning to Baku.

Notably, another medal in the European Championship won by Muhammad Abdullayev (+91 kg). He has a bronze medal.
