Azerbaijan's judo squad for world championship named - VIDEO

Baku. 17 August. REPORT.AZ/ Squad of the national judo team of Azerbaijan has been announced for the World Judo Championship in Budapest, Hungary on August 28.

Report informs citing the Azerbaijan Judo Federation (AJF), the national team will be represented by 17 athletes in the competition, which will last till September 3.

Male judokas Orkhan Safarov (60 kg), Nicat Shikhalizade (66 kg), Rustam Orujov, Hidayat Heyderov (both 73 kg), Mammadali Mehdiyev, Tural Safguliyev (both 90 kg), Elmar Gasimov, Elkhan Mammadov (both 100 kg), Ushangi Kokauri (+100 kg), female judokas Aliyeva Leyla, Erdenebat Bazarragchaa (both 48 kg), Nazaket Azizova, Purevsuren Buyankhishig (both 52 kg), Sakina Zayirova, Munktsedev Icinkolo (both 57 kg), Gulsadaf Karimova (63 kg) and Iryna Kindzerska (+78 kg) will compete in the tournament.

Notably, 794 judokas from 134 countries (482 men, 312 women) will compete in the world championship.
