Shahriyar Mammadyarov claims world championship silver

Baku. 29 December. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani chessplayer Shahriyar Mammadyarov finished second in world rapid chess championship held in Russia's Saint Petersburg.

According to Report, in the final 15th round Shahriyar Mammadyarov drew Danila Dubov of Russia.

While Dubov claimed the championship crown with 11 points, Mammadyarov finished second and Nakamura came third.

Another Azerbaijani chessplayer Gadir Huseynov took the 37th place with 9 points and Rauf Mammadov is 77th (with 8 points).

Among female chessplayers Gulnar Mammadova scored 7.5 points and took the 18th place while Gunay Mammadzade is 39th with 7 points, Zeynab Mammadyarova is 76th with 5.5 points and Turkan Mammadyarova is 79th with 5.5 points.
