President of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) Thomas Bach gave master class on fencing during his visit to Papua New Guinea.

Report informs, 63-year-old German functionary skilfully avoided attack by a local sword fighter.

He became the world champion in rapier, in 1976 in the Olympic and in 1977 in the team competition. He won a silver and two bronze medals in the world championships.

Notably, Thomas Bach was elected president of the IOC on September 10, 2013. He is the first German and first Olympic champion to lead the Olympic Committee.
