President of the International Chess Federation (FIDE) Arkady Dvorkovich has arrived in Shamkir to watch Shamkir Chess super tournament, dedicated to the late grandmaster of Azerbaijan, Vugar Hashimov.
Report informs that Dvorkovich met with the head of Shamkir District Executive Power Alimpasha Mammadov, vice-president of FIDE and Azerbaijan Chess Federation Mahir Mammadov.
FIDE chief made the first move in Magnus Carlsen (Norway) - Shahriyar Mammadyarov (Azerbaijan) game within the 5th round.
