Nizami Pashayev wins title of three-time world champion after ten years - PHOTO

Azerbaijani weightlifter Nizami Pashayev, who has ended his career, has won the title of three-time world champion after ten years, Report informs.

The silver medal won by Pashayev 2009 in South Korea was substituted with a gold medal because the reanalyze of the doping-test of the winner of that competition Kazakh Vladimir Sedov in the 2008 Summer Olympics in Beijing gave positive results. Sedov was disqualified for eight years and al results until 2016 have been canceled.

This change has already been posted on the website of the International Weightlifting Federation.

So Pashayev has become the first Azerbaijani three-time champion in weightlifting.
