Baku. 21 September. REPORT.AZ/ Today, the National Olympic Committee (NOC) held a meeting with the Azerbaijani delegation to attend the Third Summer Youth Olympic Games in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Report informs that the event was attended by Minister of Youth and Sport Azad Rahimov, Deputy Minister Ismayil Ismayilov, Vice President of NOC Chingiz Huseynzada, Secretary General of the Agency Aghajan Abiyev, Deputy Secretary General Azer Aliyev, Director of Azerbaijani National Anti-Doping Agency (ANADA) Shafag Huseynli, federation officials, coaches and athletes attended the event.
Huseynzada said that Azerbaijan won 8 medals in the First Summer Olympic Games (5 gold, 3 silver medals) and took the 11th place and grabbed 12 medals in the Second Summer Olympic Games (5 gold, 6 silver and 1 bronze) and finished 10th. He said he believes that athletes will show an excellent performance in Argentina.
Azerbaijani athletes will leave for Argentina on October 4.
Azerbaijani athletes, including 8 female and 9 male athletes received 17 licenses for 9 kinds of of sport.
Notably, the Third Summer Youth Olympic Games will be held on October 6 - 18.
