Karate World Championship may be held in Baku

Baku. 1 November. REPORT.AZ/ 2018 Karate World Championship may be held in Baku.

Report informs, President of the Azerbaijan National Karate Federation, Yashar Bashirov said.

He said that the tournament is scheduled to take place in Peru, however, the mentioned country refuses hosting the event: "In fact, this championship is scheduled to be held in Peru. However, Peru refused organizing the world championship. For this reason, Azerbaijan wants to host the competition. This also will be a good preparation prior to the Olympics."

Notably, 2020 European Karate Championship will held in Baku.
