Iran's Minister of Sports and Youth Ahmad Donyamali said further expanding sports cooperation between Azerbaijan and Iran is important.
According to Report, he noted that the 2026-2028 Action Plan on cooperation in sports and youth affairs signed between the two countries would serve as an important step toward strengthening bilateral ties.
The minister also said that during his visit he familiarized himself with Baku's sports infrastructure and highly praised Azerbaijan's experience in hosting international competitions, particularly the 4th Islamic Solidarity Games in 2017 and the success of Azerbaijani judokas at the 2024 Paris Olympics.
