Ilgar Rahimov: "We want to participate in winter Paralympic Games for first time"

“If everything goes according to the plan, we would like to participate in the 2022 Winter Paralympics in Beijing for the first time," President of the Azerbaijani National Paralympic Committee Ilgar Rahimov told Report

According to him, over the past year they tried to create teams of winter sports: "A national team of local players is being formed. Although there are few players, but the team is formed. There are two men and two women."

Rahimov said that our athletes and sportswomen also participated in two training sessions: "One of them was organized in the city of Dubai, the United Arab Emirates, and the other in the Shahdagh Winter and Summer Tourism Complex. Despite the relatively short time, our athletes for the first time took part in competitions in winter sports in Iran and won our first medals. It makes us very happy."

Rahimov also said that the team should work harder to become more serious and gain experience.

Azerbaijani Paralympians won medals in winter sports for first time this year.
