Four more Azerbaijani athletes disciplined for doping use Rovshan Fatullayev, a member of the weightlifting team, has been disqualified from all competitions for a period of 96 months (8 years), Report informs citing the official website of the National Anti-Doping Agency of Azerbaijan (AMADA). The doping test of the bronze prize winner of the Fouth Islamic Solidarity Games 'Baku 2017' proved positive for a banned substance or its metabolites or markers. Chorionic kanadotropin (hCG) and morphine have been found in his body. The sanctions applied on him came into force on January 18, 2018.

Boxer Iman Ahmadli has been disqualified for 12 months because of the use of meldonium. His sanctions came into force from March 5, 2018.

Volleyball players Iftikhar Abdullayev and Sabina Savic have been disqualified for 24 and 48 months, respectively. Abdullayev whose doping test proved positive for betamethasone substance was disqualified beginning from July 16, 2018. Savic disqualified from May 22, 2018 was disciplined  for the use of banned methamphetamine (D-) and amphetamine substance.

20 Azerbaijani athletes were earlier disciplined by AMADA because they could not pass a doping test.
