Four Azerbaijani athletes get sanctions for doping violation

Baku. 9 February. REPORT.AZ/ Sanctions were imposed on four Azerbaijani athletes for using doping.

Report informs, the official website of the Azerbaijani National Anti-Doping Agency (AMADA) writes.

Wrestler Ruhin Mikayilov was subjected to 18-month, bodybuilders Adil Rzayev, Fovgi Efendiyev and Kenan Jalilov to 48-month disqualification.

Mikayilov has been punished for the use of the banned substance or attempt to use. Furosemide has been found in his body.

The presence of banned substance or its metabolites detected in Rzayev, Efendiyev and Jalilov.

The punishment of world champion in weight category of 63 kg in Greco-Roman wrestling among juniors in 2012 and bronze prizewinner of the European Championship Mikayilov entered into force on 5 July 2017 and ends on January 5, 2019. 

As for the bodybuilders Rzayev and Efendiyev this period is from August 4, 2017 to August 4, 2021, while for Jalilov from October 4, 2017 to October 4, 2021.
