First day of Baku Open Judo Championship ends

Baku. 19 January. REPORT.AZ/ The first day of Baku U-21 Open Judo Championship taking place at Sarhadchi Sports Olympic Complex is over.

Report informs, the winners have been identified in 11 weight categories in the first day of tournament held with organizational support of Azerbaijan Judo Federation (AJF) and Sport and Youth Department of Baku City.

In women’s competition Shafiga Mollazada (44 kg), Shafag Mammadova (48 kg), Elvira Askarova (52 kg), Zahra Mehdiyeva (57 kg), Gunel Bekirzade (63 kg), Amina Huseynova (78 kg) and Shams Hajıyeva (+78 kg) gained victory.

In men’s competition Yunis Yunisli (55kg), Nazim Shikhaliyev (66 kg) and Akbar Guliyev (81 kg) became champion. The winners were awarded with medals, diplomas.

318 young judokas (295 males and 23 female) from 32 clubs are competing in Baku Open Judo Championship that will last two days.
