Baku. 25 August. REPORT.AZ/ Ex F1 pilotJustin Wilson has died of a head injury without regaining consciousness after the accident in the IndyCar Series race in Pennsylvania (USA) it has been confirmed, Report informs citing Russian media.

The British driver, who was 37, had been in coma since sustaining a head injury when he was hit by a large piece of debris that broke off a car of the American pilot Sage Karam in a crash-filled race at Pocono Raceway on Sunday.

"Justin was a loving father and devoted husband, as well as a highly competitive racing driver" - said Wilson family.

Wilson spent 16 races in F1 in 2003 for Minardi and Jaguar.
