Disappointed viewer seeks €1,600 refund for Paris Olympics Opening Ceremony

A spectator of the opening ceremony of the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris has expressed outrage over the show and demanded that the organizers refund the €1,600 spent on the ticket, according to Report, which cites the Ouest France newspaper.

"I didn't see any show: I only saw boats sailing by in the distance, in the dark, without lighting or decorations. And I didn't see any dancers or performances on the bridges and quays. I feel like it's a huge scam... Now I want my money back for my ticket," the spectator was quoted as saying by the newspaper.

Many spectators were also dissatisfied with having to watch the performances not live, but through a broadcast on screens installed along the riverbank.

The opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics took place on July 26. The event faced criticism from both prominent figures and spectators for a number of provocative episodes. In particular, social media users were outraged by a parody of Leonardo da Vinci's work "The Last Supper." The closing ceremony of the 2024 Games was held on August 11.
