Deputy Minister receives Zahra Salmanli

Baku. 22 February. REPORT.AZ/ Deputy Minister of Youth and Sports Ismayil Ismayilov met with Zahra Salmanli, winner of the international karate tournament held in Tehran, Iran.

Report informs citing the press service of the ministry that congratulating Salmanli, Ismayilov expressed gratitude to him for his heroism in defense of the Azerbaijani flag. The Deputy Minister wished success to the karate fighter in the upcoming competitions and training.He presented the athlete with award and diploma.

Zahra Salmanli, the fifth grade student of Baku secondary school № 95 of the Baku city Department of Education, objected the hanging of the Azerbaijani flag under the Armenian in a sports competition held in Iran. Salmanli said she would not participate in the tournament if the Azerbaijani flag was not hung in the appropriate place. After her insistence, the flag of Azerbaijan was taken to an appropriate place. Zahra Salmanli defeated all her opponents and was awarded a gold medal and diploma.
