The Fire Lighting Ceremony of Games 2020 will take place in closed mode due to coronavirus.
According to the Report referencing Russian media, the National Olympic Committee of Greece notes that.
The traditional event will be held in Olympia on March 12. Only about 100 people from the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and members of the organizing committee of the Olympics 2020 in Tokyo will be present at the lighting of the fire. The ceremony will also not be able for journalists.
During the week of the relay, a fire will take place on the territory of Greece, and on March 19, the torch will get handed over to the members of the Organizing Committee of the Games 2020.
Summer Olympic Games in Tokyo will start from July 24 until August 9.
