Concert venue for Azerbaijan Grand Prix 2018 changes

Baku. 30 November. REPORT/ The location of concert to be organized during 2018 Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix has been changed.

Report informs, Azerbaijan Grand Prix promoter Arif Rahimov told the Sportbox.ru.

He said that concert will be organized not on Baku Seaside Boulevard but at Baku Crystal Hall where Eurovision song contest was held in 2012. He added that special shuttle busses will be allotted for this purpose from the Formula 1 track. He added that foreign celebrities will perform in concert and talks with them are currently underway.

“Considering flow of many fans from Russia, it is very positive moment that dates of the 2018 FIFA World Cup and Grand Prix are not coincided. We cannot predict how the April weather will be in Baku. Nevertheless, it is also important that Grand Prix will not take place during Ramadan month. For this reason, we expect a great flow of fans from Arab countries.”

Promoter said that participation of Azerbaijani pilot in next year's racing is not expected.

Rahimov said tickets are already on sale, the most tickets were bought from Russia and UK.

Notably, the next Azerbaijani Grand Prix will take place on April 27-29, 2018 in Baku, while 2018 FIFA World Cup will be held in Russia on 14 June-15 July.
