Cities to host the 2024 and 2028 Summer Olympics will be named today

Baku. 13 September. REPORT.AZ/ The 131st Session of the International Olympic Committee (IOC) has today started in Lima, Peru.

Report informs, the key issue on the agenda is identification of the cities to host 2024 and 2028 Summer Olympics.

The IOC Extraordinary Session a while ago identified Paris (France) and Los Angeles (USA) to host the Olympics respectively. This step was linked to the committee's intention not to miss none of the two serious candidates as well as submission of suitable Order Applications.

The historic decision will be announced today after a three-way agreement between the IOC, Paris-2024 and the Los Angeles-2028 Committees. The agreement will be ratified at 22:00 Baku time.

Notably, the 131st session of the IOC will end on September 16.
