Baku. 11 April. REPORT.AZ/ A change was made in the list of participants of “ShamkirChess 2018” super tournament dedicated to the memory of Vugar Hashimov.
Report was informed in the “ShamkirChess 2018” press service, the former world champion Vladimir Kramnik addressed a letter to organizational committee. The Russian chess player stated that he needed some time for recreation after the 2018 FIDE World Chess Candidates Tournament in Berlin, Germany.
Therefore, Kramnik asked to replace him with other chess player at “ShamkirChess 2018”.
He wished every success to participants of the competition, and wrote that he would be very glad to take part in other tournaments to be held in Azerbaijan in the forthcoming years.
Thus, Kramnik will not participate in Vugar Hashimov Memorial Competition to be held in Shamkir. He will be replaced by a member of Poland national team Radosław Wojtaszek (2744 points).
