Baku elects International Canoe Federation President

Baku. 25 November. REPORT.AZ/ The International Canoe Federation has elected a new president.

Report informs, incumbent president José Perurena López was elected to the post for the next 4-year term.

The Spanish official had no rival in the election, held in the framework the ICF XXXVI Congress in Baku. He won 82 of 94 possible votes.

Notably, José Perurena López was born in Madrid, Spain on April 4, 1945. He competed at Mexico City 1968 Summer Olympics as a kayakist. He has been leading the ICF since 2008. J.Perurena is a member of the International Olympic Committee since 2011 and president of the International World Games Association since 2014.
