Baku. 27 September. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani wrestler Alexander Gostiyev was recognized as a best foreign athlete of the international tournament in Kemerovo, Russia.
Report informs, the 29-year-old athlete, 86 kg, won gold medal of the competition, attended by 188 athletes from 24 countries.
He was presented 100 000 rubles (about 2550 AZN) as well as a special prize of 200-gram 585 hallmark gold medal worth 700 000 rubles (about 18 000 AZN).
Notably, Kemerovo Governor Aman Tuleyev, three-time Olympic champion Alexander Karelin, double Olympic champions Sergey Beloglazov and Roman Vlasov, last Olympic champion Soslan Ramonov, President of the Russian Wrestling Federation Mikhail Mamiashvili and Russian team coach Dzhambolat Tedeyev attended opening of the tournament.
The prize fund makes 5 mln rubles.
