Baku. 23 November. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani weightlifter Valentin Hristov won bronze at the World Cup in the US city of Houston.
Report informs, 21-year-old athlete has successfully fulfilled the second attempt in the snatch.
First he picked up 137 kg, then 141 kg. However, he could not lift 143 kg at the latest attempt.
Hristov received a small bronze medal in the snatch.
At the push Christ first lifted 171 kg and then 176 kg. In a final attempt, he tried to overcome a European record of 181 kg, but he was unsuccessful. Despite this, the young weightlifter also took 3rd place in these exercises.
In sum, Hristov gained 317 kg (141 + 176), and won the bronze medal of the world championship.
