Azerbaijani weightlifter, winner of Islamic Solidarity games, disqualified for 4 years

Baku. 12 November. REPORT.AZ/ The penalty period of Azerbaijani weightlifter, Anastasia Ibrahimli, whose doping test proved positive, has been unveiled.

Report informs citing the official website of the International Weightlifting Federation that the 25-year-old athlete from Kazakhstan has been disqualified for 4 years. The penalty of Ibrahimli, whose chloromethylestosterone (turinabol) test proved positive, came into effect on August 14, 2017.

Notably, Anastasia Ibrahimli won a gold medal lifting a total of 219 kg in two moves in  the 69 kg weight category at the Fourth Islamic Solidarity Games in Baku 2017 (with a score of 100 kg, 119 kg). She was also the European champion among the weightlifters under 23 age in 2015. The athlete finished her career right after the Islamic Games as she was aware of the penalty.
