Azerbaijani veteran judoka becomes world champion

Baku. 19 November. REPORT.AZ/ Azerbaijani veteran judoka Farhad Rajabli won gold medal in the world championship in Florida, US.

Report informs F. Rajabli started competition from 1/4 final stage.

He first won Czech Jaroslav Banszel in 2 minutes, 20 seconds by ippon. Jukka Laitinen from Finland

was defeated in the semifinal because of penalty points. In the decisive match Rajabli beat Russian Vladimir Markelov in 2 minutes 33 seconds by ippon, and become world champion.

Notably, another representative of Azerbaijan Arif Gasimov, 100 kg in 5th place.
