Baku. 22 April. REPORT.AZ/ European Judo Championships continues in Kazan, Russia. Report informs, 2 Azerbaijani judokas have already fought on the second day of the tournament which is crucial in terms of winning license to 2016 Olympics in Rio de Janeiro.
In 1/16 finals Rustam Orujov 73 kg fought with Lithuanian Kestutis Vitkauskas. Azerbaijani athlete won and qualified for the 1/8 finals. His next opponent was the Czech Jakub Jesminek. Orujov won his opponent in just 22 seconds and rose to the 1/4 finals. Then Azerbaijani judoka defeated his Slovenian opponent Rok Draksic and reached semifinal. His final opponent will be Russian Denis Yartsev.
In 1/16 finals AbdulHaqq Rasullu 81 kg will meet with French Alain Schmitt. He won and reached the next round.
However in 1/8 finals Joachim Bottyö defeated Rasullu.
On the first day of the championship Orhan Safarov 60 kg won silver medal.
