Azerbaijani grandmaster to compete in World Stars event

Azerbaijani chess grandmaster Shahriyar Mammadyarov will compete in the World Stars online championship, one of the strongest ever chess tournaments in the Arab world.

Along with him, Rustam Kasimdzhanov (Uzbekistan), Pentala Harikrishna (India), Radosław Wojtaszek (Poland), Bassem Amin (Egypt), Salem Saleh (UAE) will play in a double round-robin rapid tournament for 10.000$ in prizes, International Chess Federation (FIDE) posted on Twitter.

The competition organized by Sharjah Chess Club will take place on June 12-13.
