Azerbaijani cyclist wins Tour de Maroc race

Baku. 14 April. REPORT.AZ/ Member of Azerbaijani continental cycling team “Synergy Baku”, Elchin Asadov won 7th stage of Tour de Maroc race in Morocco.

Report was told in Azerbaijan Cycling Federation (ACF), the group including members of Elite team leading the race from the start increased the gap with following group up to 7 minutes in some parts of 184.5 km route.

E. Asadov keeping the lead till the end crossed the finish line together with Moroccan sportsman Hatim Kamuchi in 4 hours 57 minutes and 11 seconds and was announced a winner after checking photo finish.

Another member of “Synergy Baku” Josip Rumac finished 18 seconds behind taking 3rd place in the 7th stage. By the way, Rumac keeps “King of the Mountains” jersey given to best mountain cyclist.

Notably, Azerbaijani cyclist Kiril Pozdnyakov was the winner of 1st and 4th stages of Tour de Maroc and positioned at 3rd in overall standing.
