Azerbaijani boxer gets an Olympic license

Baku. 26 April. REPORT/AZ European boxing championships among young boxers ended in Italian city of Roseto-degli-Abruzzi.

Report informs, the Azerbaijani national team grabbed a gold and one silver medal.

Nurlan Safarov (60 kg) won the title of European champion in the team of Vagif Shirinov. He defeated Dutchman Peer van Kas in the final with the score 3: 2 (29:28, 29:28, 27:30, 29:28, 27:30). Along with the gold medal, the Azerbaijani boxer also won a license for the Youth Olympic Games, to be held in Buenos Aires, Argentina this October.

Nijat Hasanov (69 kg) is in the second place. He defeated Russian Jambulat Bijamova in the final with a score of 0: 5 (27:30, 28:20, 27:30, 27:30, 27:30).

Azerbaijan ranks sixth in the national team of boys.
