Azerbaijani athlete disqualified for doping

The International Weightlifting Federation (IWF) has imposed sanctions on another Azerbaijani athlete for doping offense.

Report informs that Elmar Aliyev has been disqualified for 4 years.

The samples taken from the athlete, who competed in the 56 kilogram class, tested positive for the banned “Urine substitution” ("M2. Chemical and Physical Manipulation").

The 56kg weightlifter is disqualified for the term from September 12, 2018 until September 12, 2022.

Earlier, on April 15, IWF disqualified Nizami Pashayev for 8 years for doping.
