Azerbaijan Wrestling Championship will be held with new rules
State championship will be held on December 14-18

Baku. 28 November. REPORT.AZ/ The next state championship for freestyle and Greco-Roman wrestling among adults will be held with new rules at Baku Sport Palace, December 14.

Report was informed in the Azerbaijan Wrestling Federation (AWF), athletes under age of 18 are eligible to participate in the tournament jointly organized by the Ministry of Youth and Sports and the AWF.

In accordance with regulations of World Wrestling Union the competitions will be officiated by the referees appointed by the AWF Referees Board.

Freestyle wrestlers will compete in 57 kg, 61 kg, 65 kg, 70 kg, 74 kg, 79 kg, 86 kg, 92 kg, 97 kg till 125 kg, Greco-Roman wrestlers will compete in 55 kg, 60 kg, 63 kg, 67 kg,72 kg, 77 kg, 82 kg, 87 kg, 97 kg and till 130 kg categories.

This year Azerbaijan championship will be held in accordance with new regulations. Draw ceremony will be held a day before competition and the final wrestling matches will be held in the second day of competition.

Weighing event that used to take place one day, from now on will be held on the competition day. The athletes who qualified for final, will be involved in weighting process two times and they will be allowed to wrestle in the weight category of 2 kg above the norm.

Azerbaijan championship will end on December 18.
