Arif Rahimov says Formula 1 important for Azerbaijan

"We have always noted that the upcoming Formula 1 Azerbaijan Grand Prix of Azerbaijan is not just an exemplary event but also a spark of economic, social, and cultural changes. They open up great opportunities and benefits for everyone who lives and works here," Report quotes the Executive Director of Baku City Circuit Operating Company Arif Rahimov as saying.

According to him, the last few years show that reality has exceeded all expectations.

"We have a new contract which guarantees that we will hold the Grand Prix until at least 2023. By holding such a prestigious motor race in Baku, we are upbeat and are looking forward to long-term success," Rahimov said.

Baku has hosted the Formula 1 Grand Prix since 2016. This year, the Azerbaijani Grand Prix will take place on June 5-7.
