Baku. 20 November. REPORT.AZ/ The International Boxing Association (AIBA) President Ching-Kuo Wu has decided to step down from his position.
Report informs citing the association's press service.
“I step down in the best interests of both AIBA and boxing, but I remain committed to ensure a smooth handover to the new leadership. I am thankful for the time I was allowed to serve our sport, AIBA and the boxing community”, 71-year old Ching-Kuo Wu of Taiwan said.
Notably, a while ago, AIBA Disciplinary Commission removed Ching-Kuo Wu from the post. Vice President Franco Falchinelli was appointed as an acting head. Wu replaced Pakistani Anwar Choudhary in 2006.
