Baku. 4 October. REPORT.AZ/ 2018 European Weightlifting Championships postponed, Report informs, Maxim Agapitov, President of the Russian Weightlifting Federation told the TASS

The reason is related with doping scandal banning seven countries of continent – Azerbaijan, Belarus, Moldova, Russia, Armenia, Turkey and Ukraine to participate at all competitions for the period of one year.

According to him, the championship which was initially set for 22-31 march in Antalya, Turkey may take place in autumn of 2018.

Azerbaijani team was fined for five athletes.

Sardar Hasanov (62 kg), Intigam Zairov (85 kg) and Nizami Pashayev (94 kg) in Beijing 2008 Summer Olympic Games, Boyanka Koctova (58 kg), Intigam Zairov (94 kg) in 2012 London Olympic Games tested positive after doping checks.

Apart from seven European countries, China and Kazakhstan from Asia are also among fined countries.
