Three Azerbaijani detainees in Libya released

Baku. 2 September. REPORT.AZ/ Three Azerbaijani detainees Salmanov Namig Yusif, Rashidbeyli Movlud Firudin and Aliev Farid Huseyn were released on August 31, 2017 after long negotiations with the Foreign Ministry of Azerbaijan.

Report was told in MFA, crew member of Turkish "Kalkanlar 1" ship were wanted as missing persons since 27 February 2016.

Although, in the last phone call they had made to their families they informed that their boat was drowned, but they could not speak in detail. Following the searches of the Foreign Ministry, it has been known that these people were taken hostage by the "Islamic Forces" in Sirt, Libya.

On September 2, 2017, our citizens were taken from Libya to Istanbul, Turkey, and our Consulate General in Istanbul prepared documents for them and sent them to Baku by plane.
