The evidence in the criminal case, based on historical facts, shows that the committed crimes were not separate random incidents, but were planned in an organized manner at the highest level and committed with cruelty and brutality, the state prosecutor said on Feb.6 during the court hearing of criminal cases against persons of Armenian origin accused of committing numerous crimes against the Azerbaijani people, Report informs.
Addressing the court, he emphasized the historical significance of the current trial:
"The current trial is being held for the sake of establishing justice.
The trial will reveal that the investigated and presented crimes were committed as a result of political, military, material and other support from the Armenian state, and instructions and directives given by Armenia's political-military leadership.
This trial also has important historical significance in preventing the recurrence of such horrific crimes. The trial will prove that there is no safe haven or place for war criminals, and international relations should be regulated by law and justice, not by force and violence."
