State Border Service staff detained 5 foreigners trying to cross border illegally

Baku. 1 May. REPORT.AZ/ Employees of the State Border Service (SBS) of the Republic of Azerbaijan prevented the violation of the state border by one foreign citizen.

Report was informed in the SBS's press service, the incident took place in the territory of Goytapa Border Unit.

On April 26, five unknown persons were detected by the border guards at the border crossing near Bilasuvar village of Bilasuvar district and taken under control. These people were detained while trying to cross the border illegally.

The identities of the detainees were disclosed. Thus, they are Sri Lankan citizens - Kunarathinam Thuvisan, born in 1987, Sellakılı San­thı­rakumar, born in 1977, Ratnasingam Satheeskumar, born in 1983, Gunaslgar Kamstan born in 1994 and Anthony Cross Anthony Belder born in 1978.

Necessary operational and investigative measures on the fact are continuing.
