REPORT.AZ/ Information obtained on the spying against state security of the Republic of Azerbaijan, seizure of state secrets, involvement of citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan in espionage by foreign citizen Hasanzada Bahram Nusrat on the basis of the instructions of foreign intelligence service has been verified, Report informs citing the Public Relations Department of the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

It was reported that as a result of the joint operations carried out by the State Security Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the State Border Service of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Bahram Hasanzade was detained when  he was illegally crossing the state border and was charged by the Investigation Department of the State Security Service  under the Articles 276 (spying) and 318.1 (illegal crossing of the state border) of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and the arrest warrant was issued on him based on the court decision.

It was also revealed that Bahram Hasanzade, on the basis of the instructions of the foreign intelligence service, had been collecting intelligence information about military personnel serving in Armed Forces of the Republic of Azerbaijan, military-strategic facilities, military hardware and ammunition in the country, military relations with foreign countries, security and defense capabilities. For this purpose, he established a contact between the citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan who he had long-term relationships with and the foreign intelligence service in exchange for financial interest.

Investigation is currently underway.
