Baku. 17 November. REPORT.AZ/ “150 aftershocks recorded following the 6 magnitude quake in Aghdam district of Azerbaijan.”

The head of press service of Republican Seismological Service Center of Azerbaijan National Academy of Science (ANAS) Vusala Rafiqqizi told Report.

She said the magnitude of two recorded aftershocks was over 3.0: “Aftershocks will continue until the end of extinction process in the epicenter. Tremors that are felt can also be observed.”

The spokesperson of center said after the earthquake the employees of Seismological Service Center arrived in the area: “Currently, our employees are in the area of seismic station in Aghdam. The epicenter of earthquake is located in the territory of the station. Our employees conduct monitoring in order to follow the natural processes in that region. We have stationary stations in that area. They continue monitoring both in Aghdam and Barda.”

She added that new earthquake recorded 8 km south-west of Barda on November 16 at 20:43:42: “The quake was felt up to 3.0 magnitude in the mainshock epicenter.”
