Eastern Partnership had a positive impact on citizens of partner countries, Report informs citing Georgia Online, EU high representative for foreign affairs and security policy Federica Mogherini said in Brussels before the start of the event dedicated to the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership.

"Today we are celebrating the 10th anniversary of the Eastern Partnership program. We receive the foreign ministers of the six partner countries. In the evening, Donald Tusk will receive them for dinner. Tomorrow I will take part in the event together with President of European Commission Jean-Claude Juncker. We will once again celebrate the anniversary of the Eastern Partnership. This initiative had a significant positive impact on the ordinary citizens of each of the partner countries. EU values this partnership. Of course, we have difficulties and problems in the region, but we managed to move ahead in areas such as trade, economic development, human rights, expanded the role of the public, achieved liberalization of the visa regime, and so on," Mogherini said.

The Eastern Partnership (EaP) ministerial meeting begins today in Brussels.
