A magnitude 5.5 earthquake has struck off the coasts of Papua-New Guinea, Report informs via TASS.
According to the European-Mediterranean Seismological Center, the epicenter was 143 kilometers north of Lae, a city with the population of about 76,200 people. The depth of the earthquake was 216 km.
There have been no reports of casualties or damage. No threat of tsunami was announced.
