Georgia cancels graduation exams and changes university admission rules

Tbilisi. 28 January. REPORT.AZ/ Graduation exams in the public schools of Georgia will be canceled beginning from 2020.

Local Bureau of Report News Agency informs that the change is reflected in the new model of Georgia's education system.

According to the model, innovations will be implemented in 2020. The 11th grade pupils will not pass final exams in 2019 till that period.

However, final exams will be valid for the 12th grade students this year.

According to another change, universities will identify the barrier for each program from 2020. Beginning that year national exams will be held on 3 subjects instead of 4. The Georgian language and literature, exams in foreign language will be compulsory for all applicants.

The third compulsory subject will be determined according to the program of higher education institution. Applicants will be required to take exams on mathematics in technical direction and history in humanitarian studies.
