A ticket was bought for deportation of Azerbaijani journalist Fuad Abbasov to Azerbaijan tomorrow, member of the Committee to protect rights of Fuad Abbasov, chairman of ‘Azerbaijan’ society Ogtay Huseynov told Report.
"An appeal was filed against Khimki Court’s decision on Fuad Abbasov’s deportation. If the letter related to this appeal is not sent to the jail until tomorrow, Fuad Abbasov will be deported to Baku on May 31."
Russian law-enforcement agencies have detained Azerbaijani journalist Fuad Abbasov, who lives and works in Moscow. Thus, several Azerbaijani communities of Russia appealed to the Moscow court for the deportation of F. Abbasov from the country. The Moscow court on May 7 examined the case No 2737/2019 entitled "Ban on entry of a foreign citizen and stateless persons into the territory of the Russian Federation". The process was completed on May 17. On May 18, Russian law-enforcement agencies detained F. Abbasov by a court order. Procedures for deporting the journalist to Azerbaijan are currently underway.
