Former convict detained while crossing Azerbaijan-Iran state border

In the territory of Goytapa border guard service of the State Border Service, the border guard service detained a man who attempted to cross the state border with Iran.

Report informs, citing SBS, that during the initial investigation, the detainee was identified as a resident of Jalilabad district, Zahid Ibrahimov, born in 1973.

Ibrahimov was convicted in 2018 of robbery and released on condition in June 2019.

Moreover, the Khudat border guard service of the State Border Service located in the Samur settlement of Gusar region revealed a case of trespassing from Azerbaijan to Russia. As a result of the measures taken, a citizen of Algeria, Lahlah Djamal, 1987, was detained on the Samur river bed in Gusar district.

Necessary operational and investigation measures are underway on both facts.
