Court trial on Jahangir Hajiyev's 4.7 bn case kicks off today

Baku. 21 January. REPORT.AZ/ The Baku Court on Grave Crimes has today launched a preliminary trial on the criminal case of former chairman of the International Bank of Azerbaijan OJSC Jahangir Hajiyev, who was charged with embezzlement, his brother-in-law Ismail Hidayatzade, former deputy Dunyamin Khalilov, Jamal Hasanov, Sarkhan Rasulov, Natig Imanov, Samir Hajiyev, Tabriz Abdulhamidov, Mahir Gafarov, Sadikh Murtuzayev, Tarlan Maharramov, Fakhraddin Heybatov, Ramin Ahmadov, Fariz Muradov, Salahaddin Gadirov, Erkhan Javad, Arif Ramazanov, Navai Shirinov, Svetlana Asadullayeva, Arif Madatov, Adil Mikayilov and Ramis Karimov.

Report informs that the process will be chaired by Faig Ganiyev.

Notably, the Baku Court on Grave Crimes sentenced Hajiyev to 15 years, Khalilov to 13 years and Hidayatzade to 7 years in prison. By the decision of the Baku Court of Appeal, Khalilov's sentence was reduced from 13 to 12 years and 9 months, and the Supreme Court decreased Hidayatzade's sentence to 5 years.
