Baku Higher Oil School holds SPM Graduation Ceremony On May 2, 2019, Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) held the graduation ceremony for the new group of the alumni of School of Project Management (SPM), a joint initiative of BHOS and Twenty Eighty Strategy Execution (Stratex), UK. The ceremony was attended by top managers from BP, SOCAR and other guests. A total of 46 SPM graduates representing managers and specialists of 13 companies including SOCAR, BP, BHOS, Azersu OJSC, Azerigaz PU, Southern Gas Corridor JSC, SOCAR Waste Management Complex LLC, KCA Deutag, AKELİK Group OJSC, AzerTurk Bank, AzerTelecom LLC, Expro Eurasia and Prokon LLC. were awarded Master’s Certificates of the George Washington University, US. which provides the curriculum for the programme courses.

On May 2, 2019, Baku Higher Oil School (BHOS) held the graduation ceremony for the new group of the alumni of School of Project Management (SPM), a joint initiative of BHOS and Twenty Eighty Strategy Execution (Stratex), UK. The ceremony was attended by top managers from BP, SOCAR and other guests. BHOS Rector Elmar Gasimov extended his congratulations to the SPM alumni and noted that the School of Project Management was functioning at the Higher Oil School for three years now and many of the graduates already achieved significant career progression after graduating from the programme.

Teyyub Jabbarov, First Deputy Director of Azersu OJSC extended his congratulations to the alumni and expressed his strong belief that the knowledge and skills acquired in the course of the programme will contribute in further career development of the graduates.

Bakhtiyar Aslanbayli, VP of BP AGT, congratulated the alumni and said that SPM is a significant contribution in terms of the professional improvement of each participant.

Asif Bakirli, Head of SOCAR Human Resources Department, noted the significance of the trainings offered based on international training programmes by BHOS. He underlined that a total of 80 participants from SOCAR attended the SPM courses so far. Mr. Bakirli congratulated the graduates wishing them every success in their future endeavours.

Greame White, Professor of Herriot-Watt University, talked about the collaboration between HWU and BHOS underlining that BHOS is a reliable partner of the University. Noting that SPM is a very appealing project, he expressed his assurance of continuity of this programme.

The event continued with the ceremony of awarding the GWU certificates and the speeches made by the alumni who expressed their gratitude to the BHOS staff and trainers for the provided opportunities.

The School of Project Management attracts growing interest from state agencies and private companies, which send their talented professionals to study at SPM. The training programme is based on modern teaching methodology of the GWU Master’s Programme. It consists of seven modules including courses on Project Management; Risk Management; Project Leadership, Management and Communications; Scheduling and Cost Control; Quality for Project Managers; Project Management Applications; and Negotiation Skills for Project Managers.
