Baku. 19 April. REPORT.AZ/ Two Azerbaijani citizens detained for attempting to smuggle 12 kg of gold the highest standard, and 131 thousand. 950 US dollars.
Report informs referring to the Georgian media, a statement of the Investigation Service of the Ministry of Finance of Georgia, declares.
The total value of gold bullions is about 490 thousand US dollars
According to investigators, on the checkpoint "Red Bridge" citizens of Azerbaijan Bayram Gandzhaliev and Elman Huseynov were going to bypass the Declaration and smuggle gold bars in the car.
As a result, they have been arrested, the gold and the money confiscated as evidence.
A criminal case opened. Detainees may face from 8 to 11 years in prison.
