Azerbaijan Tourism Agency has discussed cooperation plans with partners from Turkey, Israel and Russia, as well as North Caucasus.

"Russia holds a special place in Azerbaijan’s tourism market. More than 850,000 Russian citizens traveled to Azerbaijan last year. I think Azerbaijan’s official tourism office in Russia will play an important role in promotion of our tourism potential," chairman of State Tourism Agency Fuad Nagiyev said at the 26th MITT 2019 International Tourism Exhibition held in Moscow, Russia.

The 26th MITT 2019 International Tourism Exhibition, organized by State Tourism Agency and Azerbaijan Tourism Bureau, was attended by representatives of more than 24 companies and hotels, which represent Azerbaijan.

Representative of the Azerbaijan tourism office in Russia Kira Vekshina said that the number of Russia’s tourism operators, which are interested in Azerbaijan, is increasing. According to her, Russian tourists are informed about various options offered for travel and rest in Azerbaijan: "Such exhibitions play a positive role in attractingt tourists from all over the world to Azerbaijan."

As part of the exhibition, Fuad Nagiyev discussed the cooperation plans with partners from Turkey, Israel and Russia, as well as North Caucasus.

The exhibition, which will last until March 14, is being attended by nearly 2,000 companies from 54 counties. Qatar, Lebanon, Nicaragua, Mongolia, Indonesia and other countries, as well as Bahrain have also joined the exhibition for the first time. Turkey is represented by more than 40 companies.
