4 judges brought to disciplinary responsibility in Azerbaijan

Baku. 2 March. REPORT.AZ/ Judicial-Legal Council has held next session.

Report was told in the council, in the session, works, carried out in 2015 and challenges ahead on improvement of court activity have been discussed.

Chairman of the Council Fikrat Mammadov addressed in the event.

He said that taking into consideration progressive international practice, efficient mechanisms have been established for comprehensive and fundamental assessment of activity of judges as well as activities of up to 100 judges and court chairmen, which terms expired last year, has been investigated and assessed, at the same time, 13 judges have been brought to disciplinary responsibility for violation of legislative requirements, including creating conditions for corruption.

Up to 40 academic events for over 500 judges as well as series of trainings for court employees have been organized with participation of international organizations, famous experts and experienced judges in order to reduce court errors, teaching of topics related with human rights, elimination of cases creating condition for corruption, code of ethics have been preferred.

Chairman of Supreme Court Ramiz Rzayev, First Deputy Chairman of Milli Majlis Ziyafat Asgarov and other council members attended the event.

At the same time, disciplinary proceedings on 3 judges have been heard, decision on changing place of work of Balakan Region Court Judge Rafig Kazimov has been adopted for violation of legislative requirements, creating condition for corruption. Judges of Baku city Yasamal District Court Akshin Afandiyev and Ujar Region Court Chingiz Isgandarov have been reprimanded. As well as disciplinary proceedings have been launched on 4 judges of various courts, violating legislative requirements.
